Welcome Speech
Navigating the Future: PIT XXV Batam 2026
Dear Colleagues in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (Sp.KFR) across the Archipelago, Health Visionaries, and Distinguished Strategic Partners, welcome to a new era of rehabilitation medicine.
The 25th Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) of PERDOSRI in Batam is not merely a routine gathering; it represents a quantum leap for our profession. With the theme "Connecting Discovery to Practice: Rehabilitation Research for Community Empowerment," we reaffirm the role of Physiatrists not simply as supporting specialists, but as the ultimate gatekeepers in function-based healthcare.
Our Strategic Vision
In the future we are shaping today, quality of life will no longer be measured solely by survival, but by the optimization of human function. As specialists in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, we stand at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge research with the realities of society.
Standard of Excellence
Transforming bench research into precise clinical protocols that effectively mitigate disability within our communities.
The Functional Architect
Positioning PM&R specialists as key navigators in shaping health policies centered on the holistic restoration of human functional capacity.
Distinguished Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,
For twenty-five years, the Indonesian Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association (PERDOSRI) has stood at the forefront of restoring hope, function, and dignity to individuals living with disability. As we approach our Silver Jubilee - the 25th Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT XXV) of PERDOSRI 2026 - we find ourselves at an important milestone in the journey of rehabilitation medicine in Indonesia.
Our focus is to make rehabilitation research accessible, effective, and sustainable for individuals, families, and communities across Indonesia.
It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I warmly invite you to join us in Batam, Indonesia, from 23-26 September 2026, at the Swiss-Belhotel Harbour Bay. This year, we move beyond the traditional boundaries of hospitals and clinics under the theme: Connecting Discovery to Practice: Rehabilitation Research for Community Empowerment.
In a nation as vast and diverse as Indonesia with its thousands of islands, dynamic communities, and growing demand for rehabilitation services - the true value of scientific discovery lies not only in publication but in its translation into real-life solutions for society. Rehabilitation research must reach the homes, workplaces, schools, and communities where individuals strive every day to regain independence and quality of life.
